FAQs
MASSAGE - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1.How long is a typical massage session, and what should I expect during my first appointment?
- Our sessions are scheduled by the amount of time during the massage, so if you booked a 60 minute massage, you will get from the booked start time 60 minutes. During your initial appointment, your therapist will conduct a brief consultation to understand your specific needs and preferences. We have set aside an extra 15 minutes for you to fill out your initial visit form before your first appointment, unless you filled it out prior to the appointment online. We do recommend to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to ensure there is plenty of time.
2.What types of massage do you offer, and how do I know which one is right for me?
- We offer a variety of massages, including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, cupping, microcurrent point stimulation, prenatal, aromatherapy and more. If you're unsure, our therapists will guide you based on your goals, preferences, and any specific concerns you may have.
3. Is it okay to communicate with the therapist during the massage regarding pressure or specific areas of focus?
- Absolutely. Communication is key to a successful massage. Feel free to let your therapist know about your comfort level, pressure preferences, or if you have any particular areas you'd like them to focus on.
4. What should I wear during a massage, and will my privacy be respected?
- Wear comfortable clothing or undress to your level of comfort. Our therapists are trained to respect your privacy and ensure you are appropriately covered throughout the session.
5. Can I book a massage if I have certain health conditions or concerns?
- In most cases, massage is beneficial. However, if you have specific health concerns, please inform us during the consultation or consult with your healthcare provider before scheduling to ensure it's safe for you.
6. Are your massage therapists certified and experienced?
- Yes, all our therapists are licensed and experienced professionals. They undergo rigorous training and stay updated on the latest techniques to provide you with a high-quality and safe massage experience.
7. Do you offer gift certificates, and how can I purchase them?
- Yes, we offer gift certificates for all our massage services. You can purchase them online through our website or in person at our location.
8. What is your cancellation policy?
- We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any cancellation fees. Fees will include the full-service amount or loss of one package session. You can view the whole policy here.
9. I’m pregnant, can I get a massage?
Yes! It is usually recommended to wait until after the first trimester, but that is only because the risk of miscarriage is higher; there is nothing we would do that would cause miscarriage unless we were NOT notified. There are acupuncture points as well as heat techniques that would not be recommended until the last trimester. If you think you could be pregnant or there is a chance, please let us know prior to your session.
10. What lubricant do you use?
We use 100% Organic Jojoba oil for our massages.Unless you select our Power Probiotics Massage, then we use our probiotics massage gel.
11. I have an allergy, what do I do?
Please inform us of any allergies or sensitivities before your appointment. We occasionally diffuse essential oils, but will gladly refrain if we’re notified of an allergy in advance.
At Kingdom Wellness, we prioritize your health and safety by using primarily non-toxic, naturally derived products throughout our space including our massage oils, detergents, and hand soaps. For sanitation, we use EPA-registered disinfectants approved for professional wellness settings to ensure every surface and tool is properly cleaned and safe for your care.
12. Do you provide couples massages?
We currently do not offer couples massages in the same room, but if scheduling permits, we can get you both scheduled for the same time. Due to only two therapists working per day, it can be difficult to get these booked, but not impossible; it might just be a few weeks out.
Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with.
HEAD SPA - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a Head Spa?
A Head Spa is a luxurious scalp and hair wellness experience designed to support scalp health, nourish the hair, and promote deep relaxation.
Each experience combines customized scalp care, botanical treatments, therapeutic techniques, and scalp massage to create a restorative experience for both the scalp and nervous system.
Think of it as self-care for your scalp, hair, mind, and body.
Which Head Spa Experience should I book?
You do not need to know your scalp type or specific concerns before booking.
Simply choose the experience length that best fits your schedule and goals.
Every Head Spa Experience is fully customized to your individual scalp and hair needs.
Express Experience (60 Minutes)
Perfect for maintenance visits, busy schedules, or a quick refresh.
Signature Experience (75 Minutes)
Our most popular and recommended experience. Ideal for first-time guests, stress relief, scalp concerns, and a full reset.
Immersion Experience (90 Minutes)
Our most indulgent experience, designed for deeper treatment work and extended relaxation.
What should I expect during my appointment?
Your experience begins with a personalized consultation so we can better understand your scalp, hair, lifestyle, and goals.
Your service may include:
Scalp stimulation
High frequency therapy
Pressure point therapy
Customized cleansing
Botanical scalp infusions
Scalp treatments
Hair treatments
Scalp massage
Neck and shoulder massage
Conditioning treatments
Leave-in finishing products
Every experience is customized and may vary based on your individual needs.
Will my hair get wet?
Yes.
Most Head Spa Experiences include cleansing, rinsing, conditioning, and scalp treatments, so your hair will become wet during your service.
Should I wash my hair before my appointment?
No.
Please arrive as you are.
In fact, we often prefer to see your scalp and hair in its natural state.
Can I wear makeup?
Yes.
However, we recommend keeping makeup minimal if possible, as portions of the service involve scalp, temple, forehead, and facial area relaxation.
Will my hair be dried afterward?
Self-serve blow drying is available with all experiences.
Professional Blow Dry upgrades are also available during booking or can be added to your appointment.
Can I receive a Head Spa if I have hair extensions?
Unfortunately, no.
At this time, Head Spa Experiences are not offered for guests with hair extensions.
Many of the techniques, cleansing methods, scalp stimulation protocols, and treatments used during the experience may interfere with extension bonds, tapes, beads, or installation methods.
For the safety and longevity of your extensions, we recommend waiting until extensions have been removed before scheduling a Head Spa Experience.
Can I receive a Head Spa during pregnancy?
At this time, Head Spa Experiences are not offered during pregnancy.
While many aspects of the experience are relaxing and gentle, certain components of our protocols and equipment have not been specifically designed for pregnancy.
We recommend waiting until after pregnancy before scheduling a Head Spa Experience.
Is a Head Spa only for people with scalp concerns?
Not at all.
Many guests book simply for the relaxation experience and therapeutic scalp massage.
A Head Spa can be enjoyed whether you are seeking:
Stress relief
Relaxation
Self-care
Scalp support
Hair nourishment
A luxury wellness experience
What scalp concerns can a Head Spa help support?
Our customized treatments may help support:
Dry scalp
Oily scalp
Product buildup
Scalp discomfort
Flaking
Hair thinning concerns
Overall scalp wellness
However, Head Spa services are not medical treatments and do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
How often should I receive a Head Spa?
This varies based on your goals.
Many guests enjoy:
Monthly maintenance visits
Seasonal scalp resets
Occasional self-care experiences
Your provider can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your scalp and hair needs.
Is the experience customized?
Absolutely.
No two scalps are exactly alike.
Your provider will customize products, treatments, techniques, and recommendations specifically for your scalp, hair, and goals.
Are the products clean and non-toxic?
We carefully select professional products that align with our commitment to wellness and scalp health.
Our treatments utilize high-quality botanical ingredients and professional scalp care products designed to support a healthy scalp environment.
What if I have scalp sensitivities or allergies?
Please inform us of any known allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or concerns during your consultation so we can determine the most appropriate treatment options for you.
Can I receive a Head Spa if I have psoriasis, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, or another scalp condition?
Possibly.
Many guests with scalp concerns enjoy Head Spa treatments; however, certain conditions may require modifications or may not be appropriate depending on severity.
If you have an active scalp condition, open sores, infections, severe inflammation, or are currently under the care of a dermatologist, please contact us before booking so we can determine whether the experience is appropriate for you.
Head Spa services are not medical treatments and do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
Can I receive a Head Spa if I recently colored my hair?
Yes, in most cases.
However, we generally recommend waiting at least 48–72 hours after a color service before receiving a Head Spa treatment.
This allows the color to fully settle and helps preserve the longevity of your color.
If you have recently received a chemical service such as coloring, lightening, perming, or other hair treatments, please let your provider know during your consultation.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to fully relax.
Because portions of the experience include scalp, neck, and shoulder work, we suggest avoiding bulky collars, turtlenecks, hooded sweatshirts, or large hair accessories.
We will provide you with a robe during your treatment.
You'll remain comfortably draped and cared for throughout your experience.
Can men receive a Head Spa?
Absolutely.
Head Spa Experiences are beneficial for anyone seeking scalp wellness, relaxation, stress relief, or healthy hair support.
Many men enjoy Head Spa treatments for:
Stress relief
Scalp care
Dry or oily scalp concerns
Relaxation
Hair thinning support
General wellness and self-care
Our treatments are customized to the individual and are appropriate for both men and women.
Can Head Spa treatments help with hair growth?
A healthy scalp creates a healthier environment for hair.
While Head Spa treatments are not a medical treatment for hair loss and cannot guarantee hair growth, many guests choose Head Spa services to support overall scalp health and create an optimal environment for healthy hair.
Growth Activation Boost enhancements may be available for guests seeking additional support.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me?
To preserve the relaxing nature of the experience and maintain a peaceful environment for all guests, we recommend that only the individual receiving the service be present in the treatment room unless otherwise approved by management.
What if I arrive late?
We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals.
However, arriving late may shorten your treatment time in order to respect the appointments of guests scheduled after you.
To receive the full benefits of your experience, we recommend arriving a few minutes early.
Do I need to know what treatments or add-ons I need before booking?
Not at all.
Your provider will help determine the most appropriate treatments, products, and recommendations based on your scalp, hair, and goals.
Simply choose your preferred experience length and we'll customize the rest.
Is there anything that would prevent me from receiving a Head Spa?
For safety reasons, Head Spa Experiences may not be appropriate for individuals with:
Hair extensions
Pregnancy
Active scalp infections
Open wounds or sores on the scalp
Certain severe scalp conditions
Recent scalp procedures or treatments that may be affected by service
If you are unsure whether a Head Spa Experience is right for you, please contact us before booking and we'll be happy to help.
